The rapid economic growth of the country manifested by the influx of both foreign and domestic investments paved a growing demand for corporate and investment consultants.

Heeding this demand, Cebu Business and Investment Consultants (CBIC) was organized in the later part of 1990. The major services being offered are corporate matters, tax and business consultancy, accounting and auditing services. In such a short time span, CBIC has traveled a milestone in the service business. It is retained by a diversified clientele whose business operation ranges from trading, manufacturing, export, real estate development, construction, realty, holdings, resort and hotel services, agricultural, management, educational and medical services.

CBIC is composed of competent, qualified and well-motivated professionals whose common goal is the delivery of total quality service and client satisfaction. It provides experiential training and exposes its staffs to various development programs and seminars aimed to develop their technical skills and management potentials.

CBICCBIC is constantly updated with the current economic and socio-political trends affecting the Philippine business sector. It seeks to inform, as well as update its clientele with the new business policies, various government legislations and reportorial requirements. CBIC maintains a code of confidentiality as it deals with each client. CBIC’s legal, tax and business consultancy is headed by Atty. Rolando P. Nonato, a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University (A.B. Economics), the University of the Philippines College of Law at Diliman, Quezon City, and the Asian Institute of Management (Management Development Program). He was a former Tax Principal of SGV & Co., Asia’s biggest consultancy and auditing firm, and has had extensive experience in various aspects of business organization, foreign investments, tax and business consultancy and registrations with different government agencies.

Atty. Rester John L. Nonato is a graduate of the University of the Philippines, Business Management, Cum Laude, the Ateneo De Manila University School of Law, Juris Doctor in Laws, Second Honors, and the University of California Hastings College of Law, for his Masters of Law with specialization in International Business and Trade, Cum Laude. He was a former tax manager of SGV & Co., a tax supervisor at KPMG Philippines, and a former associate of Siguion Reyna Montecillo & Ongsiako Law Offices. He has had substantial experience in tax, corporate, and legal practice. He specializes in tax treaty relief applications, BIR request for rulings, tax audit investigations, intellectal property registration and contests of intellectal property righs, and the handling of corporate, labor and civil cases. He is also the resident tax columnist of the Cebu Daily News (Column Name: Thumb Tax), an affiliate of the Inquirer, one of the Philippine's top national newspapers.

Together, Atty. Rolando and Rester Nonato comprise the Nonato & Nonato Law Offices.

The auditing and accounting practice is headed by Mrs. Wan Margaret L. Nonato, a Certified Public Accountant, and a graduate of the University of the East, Magna Cum Laude. She was a Senior Auditor of SGV and Co., a member of the Arthur Andersen group for six (6) years, before serving as Chief Accountant, then as Controller of a popular group of companies based in Cebu. She had taken up the Management Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in 1997.

Atty. Rolando P. Nonato is a tax, legal and business advisory consultant to several companies in the Philippines. Mrs. Wan Margaret L. Nonato, on the other hand, serves as their external auditor, accounting and business advisory consultant.
